Hardstanding and grass pitches

Our spacious pitches are not just for campervans, they are equally suited to motorhomes, caravans and roof tent adventurers looking for a peaceful, nature-filled stopover in Northumberland.

Perfectly located just a short drive from the North Shields–Amsterdam ferry, Tranwell Farm makes an ideal first or final stop when touring the North East. We’re also a great base for exploring the Northumberland 250, or a restful pause for those heading further north on the iconic North Coast 500.

As an off-grid site, we "don’t offer electric hook-up" but that’s very much part of the experience. Staying here is about slowing down, switching off, and enjoying a simpler, more mindful way of travelling. What we do provide are clean, hot showers, well-maintained toilet facilities, and plenty of space to relax and unwind.

Our low-impact approach means your stay treads lightly on the land. From solar-powered energy and eco-friendly practices to wildlife-rich surroundings and a working farm that’s been carefully managed for nature, Tranwell Farm offers a more sustainable way to explore.

Wake to birdsong, spend your days discovering coast and countryside, and return to a calm, quiet pitch under wide Northumbrian skies - simple, peaceful touring at its best.
