Poppy's hut is our little shepherd's hut for two, with a touch more comfort than our camping pods, without losing the rustic charm of staying on the farm.
There's something rather lovely about a shepherd's hut. It's small and cosy and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Inside you'll find a comfortable double bed, a proper little kitchen with a gas hob and a fridge. An en-suite shower room and a flushing toilet.
When the weather turns chilly, light the log-burning stove, put your feet up and settle in for the evening. In summer, throw open the doors and let the fresh air in.
It's a place made for couples who enjoy getting away from it all. Simple suppers with a glass of something nice and sitting outside by the fire as the evening draws in. Watching the countryside change as the light fades, listening for the owls and, on a clear night, looking up and watching the night sky.
Wake up to birdsong completely surrounded by nature. Stay tucked up in bed with a morning cup of coffee, or step outside onto the deck and enjoy breakfast in the fresh air. There's no rush to go anywhere.
Poppy has her own outdoor seating area, fire pit and BBQ rack, giving you the option to spend your whole evening outside or retreat indoors to the warmth of the stove. The hut is cosy and intimate, a special space for a few nights away, with the Northumbrian countryside all around you.
It's a lovely base for exploring Northumberland, but equally good for doing very little at all. Walk the dogs, explore the farm, head off for the day and come back to your own little hut, or simply stay put and enjoy having nowhere else to be.

Pets
We warmly welcome dogs at Tranwell Farm and know they’re very much part of the family. You will have access to walks around the farm, our on-site nature trail and dedicated dog walking field, plenty of space for tails to wag. We also provide a thoughtful dog welcome pack with towels, throws, a water bowl and a few treats to make them feel just as at home as you do.
